09.03.2023

Congratulations to our group member Anna: She was officially honored for receiving an ESPRIT carreer funding grant from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).

For her project on "Tensor networks for studies of topological phase transitions", our "Quantum Information & Quantum Many-Body Physics" group member Dr. Anna Francuz has been awarded a 3-year grant from the FWF career funding program ESPRIT. On March 8th, International Women's Day, she came together with other successful female researchers to be honored in an award ceremony and exchange ideas about careers in science.

During the event, Austria's Federal Minister for Education, Science, and Research Martin Polaschek as well as Barbara Weitgruber, head of the research section at the Ministry, and FWF President Christof Gattringer acknowledged the importance of outstanding female researchers like Anna and her fellow awardees. All in all, 59 female postdocs have been awarded ESPRIT or Elise Richter grants in 2022.
