PhD positions available

30.03.2022

PhD positions on a variety of topics – including two projects in our "Quantum Information and Quantum Many-Body Physics" group – are available through the Vienna School of Mathematics.

The Vienna School of Mathematics (VSM) is advertising up to four PhD positions, funded by the University of Vienna. Applicants are invited to choose from a broad range of potential PhD projects. This includes two projects proposed by Norbert Schuch, leader of our "Quantum Information and Quantum Many-Body Physics" research group: "Mathematical Structure of Tensor Network States", and "Quantum Many-Body Problems for Near Term Quantum Computers".

Candidates with a strong motivation to work on one of these topics are strongly encouraged to apply for a position in these projects. Prerequisites are a diploma/master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, or related fields, as well as a high level of competence in the fields of mathematics and physics required for the respective project, as laid out in the corresponding project description.

Further details on these projects, as well as general information on the positions and the application procedure, can be found on the website of the Vienna School of Mathematics. Candidates should file their application directly via the VSM by April 30, 2022. We are wishing them all the best for their application and would be happy to welcome them to our group.
