Welcome, Shuhei Oyama!

01.10.2024

We are very glad to welcome Shuhei Oyama as a new postdoc in our Quantum Information & Quantum Many-Body Physics group.

In March 2024, Shuhei completed his PhD in Physics at Kyoto University, Japan, with a dissertation on "Theoretical Study of Invertible States Using Matrix Product States" under the supervision of Prof. Masatoshi Sato. During his 3-year Advanced Quantum Technology Fellowship as well as during his time as Special Postdoctoral Researcher at Riken CEMS he has already gained valuable research experience.

His research interests lie in the area of topological phases of matter and tensor networks, with a focus on higher Berry phases. With his expertise, Shuhei is a much-appreciated addition to our research group and he will contribute to our efforts as a team member of the ERC-CoG project SEQUAM. We wish him a great time with our group in Vienna!
